[00:00:25] Welcome to After Action Report, where listeners share the sordid and sometimes not so sordid, sometimes really wholesome details of first-time sexual experiences, new adventures. This week, Nick is here to tell us all about his first fulsome and the killer outfit he made for it. Nick, welcome to After Action Report. Thank you. Glad to be here. Thank you for being here. All right, before we get to what you did, why you're here, what you wanted to talk about, tell us a little bit about who you are.

[00:00:54] I'm Nick. I am in my mid-40s. I live in Toronto, and I work in the architectural department for a builder. Cool. All right. So, what is it that you wanted to come on the show and share? What's a new thing you did that you just have to tell somebody about? So, this is something that I've been wanting to do for a long time, but just never had a chance.

[00:01:20] And one of my friends is getting married next year, so we decided to go to Folsom Europe or Folsom Berlin as his bachelor party. Oh, fun. What had you heard about Folsom Berlin before you went? I know it's like one of the biggest kink party in Europe.

[00:01:39] And I think my biggest mistake is that I kept on looking at things from online and confusing things between Folsom San Francisco and Folsom Berlin. They're different from what I saw online, at least. Yeah, yeah, they're very different. I've been to both. I've been to Folsom Berlin, Folsom SF. Folsom Berlin is, in some ways, more hardcore and in other ways, not as hardcore. You can't do public nudity in Berlin. There's not sex in the streets.

[00:02:08] But from the fetish kink, people turning it out, people dressing up, Folsom Berlin is a little bit harder core than Folsom SF. Yes. So, when we got there, because we got there like a couple days before the Folsom started. So, we saw the setup and then we saw banners showing like, you know, no spanking, no nudity, no public urination. Oddly, no nipple pinching.

[00:02:37] So, it was one of the banners. And we were like, wait, what are we going to see? So, we were kind of like, we were expecting people to have like sex everywhere on the street. And we're like, no, that's San Francisco, not Berlin. So, when the actual day came, it was actually a surprise. And it was actually very, very much all about kink. So, it's not about sex and the nudity.

[00:03:06] It's all about all the different types of kinks. And like, I don't think I've ever been exposed to see that much different type of kinks. And like, even things that I've heard of, but I've never actually seen it in real life. Like, there was one booth that was selling adult diapers. It's the biggest booth in the entire place. So, like, most people have like a 10 by 10. I think they have three or four 10 by 10 tents put together.

[00:03:35] And they even have like one giant crib where an adult baby could go on to. And I was just like, this is kink. Like, it was concentrating on kink, not necessarily sex. This kink is not my kink, but this kink is okay. But what the fuck? I feel like we need to back up just a little bit. Like, Folsom is a big, in San Francisco, I just assume people know this. But it's a big street festival where kinky people and now vanilla people and sometimes people pushing strollers with children in them. We really wish you wouldn't. That's bad. Come.

[00:04:05] And it's just a big Bacchanal street party celebrating sexual diversity, gender diversity and kink. Folsom Berlin is a street festival on Berlin's famous Fuggerstrasse. Home to initially, originally, some of Berlin's biggest leather bars in the 80s and 90s. And it's just been this big street festival and it's kink, but it's about gear and about turning up, showing up, representing, hanging out. Folsom Berlin is a very social.

[00:04:34] A lot of people, I call them eventosexuals. They come from all over for big kink fetish gay events and they come to them. And so people reconnect. They see old friends. But it's not about fucking in the streets. It is about being geared up in fetish gear in the street. So what did you wear? What gear did you have? So I, because I spoke to my friends and I was like, I don't know what to wear because like this is very, very intense. I don't have that kind of gear. Like, you know, I have a harness or two.

[00:05:02] And so we were talking about it and I said, like, you know what? I don't think I can spend like it's already, you know, a cost to fly there and everything. And I was like, I don't think I can put thousands of dollars into a proper gear to make it look like I can blend in. So what I did was I went to Ikea, bought a bunch of Ikea bags and I made a full gear outfit. So I had a harness. I had a harness that straps into a kilt that's all made out of Ikea bags.

[00:05:32] And I also had a crown. Out of Ikea bags? Out of Ikea bags. Because you were trying to like, my kink is Ikea? Or you were trying to use that kind of blue, shiny, crinkly material as a fetish material? I was using it more as like the fetish material because I do like part of the aspect of the gear or wearing a harness. But I don't have a harness gear that's a complete set that, you know, like bottoms and tops.

[00:05:58] So I was like, but I can make one that would be, you know, a one uniform from top to bottom. So I made it over Ikea. And how did it turn out? Did you get compliments? A lot of people at Folsom Berlin, it's, you know, Berliners, Germans have reputations for being cold and a little distant. But my experience of Folsom Berlin is if you show up and turn it out, that people compliment you. People are friendly. Did you get a lot of compliments? Did people like the gear that you made?

[00:06:28] Yes, I had a ton of compliments. I had so many people stop me to like, can we take a photo? And I was like, yeah, of course. I took a ton of pictures. There was one gentleman who stopped me, asked for, he ran up from across the street, stopped me, asked for a photo. And I was like, yes. And then his partner told me that he used to work for Ikea for 43 years. So I was like, oh, come on. That's awesome.

[00:06:52] Ikea just has this reputation for making everybody who walks in the doors at some point miserable. And I do think, I think kink is often rooted in fear, like eroticized fears. And there are people out there, myself included, I fear Ikea, but I haven't fetishized Ikea. Oh, I didn't fetishize Ikea. It was just more kind of like, it's the medium I can use to, you know, towards my fetish.

[00:07:20] Okay, so any other, besides the diaper guys, the diaper gang, any other fetish or kink or attire you spotted that you hadn't seen before or even thought of necessarily as a kink? There was a lot of, like I know there are rubber, like, you know, rubber is a kink, the rubber outfits. And there's furries. I didn't know about rubber animals, I guess. So there's a lot of guys who are just in full rubber suits, but they're shapes like animals.

[00:07:49] Mostly horses. So, and it was very, very interesting. It was very cool because they all, like on their hands, they have hooves. And then as they're walking, they're kind of like clapping the hooves. So it sounded like actually horse walking. And I was just looking at those and I was like, A, like, I can't believe how hot that must be inside. B, that is one awesome, awesome look. Like, I can't imagine the cost of like, or even making something like that.

[00:08:17] Like one guy came as a rainbow zebra and it was all head to toe rubber. I was just like, that is mind blowing. And then there's the kink aspect of so many, there's people being caged. There's people being, you know, hung from like, you know, they have straps on and then they got hung from the, from a contraption. They're just hanging and like, you know. And then there is one guy that I thought was really, really interesting. He was in a puppy suit.

[00:08:44] He was caged up and all the people around him are invited to just try to arouse him. So like he had clothes on, but you can see a raging boner and everybody's like, you know, tweaking his nipples, playing with his butt, you know, playing with his dick. And I was just like, this, this is crazy. It was, it was very, very erotic, but I, but in a way it's not sexual. So you were in Berlin, you went to Folsom.

[00:09:13] It was erotic, but not sexual. Groping was okay over the clothes. Yes. Public sex on Fuggerstrasse, unlike Folsom Street in San Francisco, not allowed. But you're in Berlin. You're a gay guy with some skills, mad skills. You can make your own fetish gear. Oh my God, you're going to save so much money if you keep exploring kink. Mad props that you made your own outfit and it was a hit. But, but did you have sex while you were in Berlin? Of course.

[00:09:42] So one of the things that we did was we, of course, bought all the tickets to go to all the big parties. So we went to Pig. We went, I can't even remember. They're all themed, like Pig was a leather party. But we also went to Laboratory, which is the sister bar club from Bergheim. And it was a Thursday night. So famously, Laboratory on Thursday night is naked night. So you had the gear.

[00:10:12] Yeah, I had the gear. So it was awesome. It was, I have never seen like over a thousand naked men in one place. It was different. But yeah, I definitely had a lot of sex there. Like I've been to naked bars before, but this was like amped up because it wasn't just you're in a club naked. Everybody was having sex. Everybody was fucking. Everybody's fucking everywhere.

[00:10:43] In the beginning, I was like, I don't know what to do. I don't know how to approach people. So I was afraid, like I don't speak German. So I was very, very afraid that like, you know, it'd be a barrier, language barrier. But like, you know, after a while, once I get a hard on, there's definitely a lot of people that just kind of like, you know, comes over, pulls you over. And I was like, okay, sure. Not a single word exchange. A language barrier occasionally at lab, but no other kinds of barriers. Hopefully everybody is on prep.

[00:11:09] Everyone is using Doxy and protecting each other. It is, you know, I have been to lab, not for naked night. There is a kind of Hieronymus Bosch quality to it or Burnell where everywhere you look, there's a different little like scene happening. Yes. And it's a little overwhelming. And there's only so, how long did you stay? I'm working up to how long do you stay? Like when I go to lab with my friends, we go for like 90 minutes, two hours, which is crazy because sometimes we're in line for two hours. Yes.

[00:11:39] But we can only take Hieronymus Bosch, Burnell painting for about two hours. Then we have to bolt. How long did you make it? I stayed for about four or five hours. Wow. You're better at being gay than I am. It was funny because like I was like, both my friend and I, we walked in and we split up because we're like, we're close friends, but we try not to watch each other fuck.

[00:12:05] So we, so we went and I explored and you know, I had fun. I met up with a few guys, had fun. And I was counting in my head how many hookups I had. And I had about eight guys at that time. And then there was, if I can be a little bit more graphic, I'm sure it's fine. You can be as graphic as you want to be around here. So I was exploring the space and I was walking around and then at some point it got a little bit crowded. So we're walking like, you know, in a lineup.

[00:12:33] And then the guy in front of me just had a nice ass. And I was like, how do I get his attention? So I just kind of like, you know, pretended to bump into him and he turned around and saw my boner and kind of pulled me aside. And he pinned me on the wall. So I had my back on the wall and he just started writing me. And I was like, this is awesome. I'm like, okay, I don't have to do anything. I'm just going to, you know, sit back and lay like, you know, lean on the wall. And he does all the work.

[00:13:00] And then a friend of his came by and started talking to him in German and which I don't understand. And then he, I know he gestured to his friend and he hopped off and his friend got on. And I was like, okay. And I was like, sure. I have no problem with this. Oh my God. You are the rarest thing. You are the pass around party top. We talk all the time about the pass around party bottom. You are the pass around party top. Yes. Yes. And I had, I had, at some point I lost count how many guys hopped on and hopped off.

[00:13:28] And I was just kind of like, I'm just enjoying it. I'm enjoying it. So your friend whose bachelor party this weekend in Berlin was all about, did he have as much fun as you did at lab? Yes, he did. He met up with someone that was like, so my, my friend is a bottom and he met up with a top who took him under his wings and passed him around. Oh my God. Gay men are crazy. I love gay men. Gay men are crazy.

[00:13:55] Uh, so Folsom Berlin, you got your Folsom Berlin cherry popped. You were the pass around party top at lab at naked night. Any advice for people who might want to go to Folsom Berlin for the first time after having gone for the first time yourself? I think just keep an open mind, keep an open mind and stay close to where the party is at. Uh, like we stayed at one of the, you know, the connected hotels. So definitely there was a lot of people that is within the realm of the kinks at the hotel too.

[00:14:24] So we saw them everywhere and, uh, it just feels a little bit more comfortable when you have to travel like, you know, five, 10 minutes from the hotel to the, to the venues. Yeah. Yeah. If you're in fetish gear, you don't want to be at some hotel. That's a 50 minute Ubon ride away. Yes, exactly. You want to be a few blocks away at most in a hotel. That's also packed with other people in fetish gear. I'm really glad that it was such a positive first time experience for you. Um, I've talked to some people who went to Folsom Berlin for the first time or Folsom

[00:14:54] SF and they felt like wallflowers. They couldn't quite find their way in, or they felt self-conscious about what they were wearing or not wearing. And I think the fetish scene and big events like Folsom are much more welcoming and embracing of all kinks now. Like the diaper guys are there. Yes. Yeah. And you don't have to have a $10,000 full bluff raglets leather outfit to feel like you're part of the scene. You can literally make yourself a fetish outfit if you have sewing skills. Yes.

[00:15:22] Crafty skills like you do from Ikea bags and people are going to want their picture with you and embrace you and slide down on your dick. Yes. It was awesome. Are you going to go back? Uh, yes. But I think that I think my next goal is to do Folsom San Francisco. I think I have to, I have to try that and see that. Well, when you try Folsom San Francisco, please come back on After Action Report and then we can do a compare and contrast. Yes. Because I've been to both and then you will have been to both.

[00:15:51] And I will, I would love to hear your first timer at Folsom San Francisco perspective. Nick, thank you again for coming on the show. Thank you. Thank you, Nick. You crafty pervert. Okay.
